Lenten Program on Zoom–2023

Each Thursday morning during Lent, February 23 through April 6, at 10:30 am, and each Tuesday, February 28 through April 4, at 6:30 p.m. we will gather over Zoom to “try on” a spiritual discipline for a week. I call the program Dim Sum, after the funnest way to learn about Chinese food. The waitress walks through the restaurant with a variety of foods on small plates. Baked Potato Lunch–March 19, 2023

The Fellowship Ministry Team will be hosting a Baked Potato Lunch following the morning worship service on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Congregation members and friends will be bringing toppings to share. Please indicate what you will bring–and how many will be attending–on the signup sheet in the front entry. The Fellowship Ministry Team will provide baked potatoes, beverages, and desserts. Pet Food Bagging

Join Us On March 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Everyone is invited! We will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall to bag up Dog and Cat food for animal owners coming to the Food Pantry. Nevada Museum of Art–March 11, 2023

Nevada Museum of Art 160 Liberty Street, Reno, Nevada Saturday, March 11, 2023 SAVE THE DATE! We are planning on going to the Nevada Museum of Art. The admission is FREE. The theme for March is “Water by Design.” The museum opens at 10:00 am. We can carpool from church. Meet at SSPC at 9:00 and leave promptly at 9:30. The museum café open for lunch at 11:00 am. Ash Wednesday

At Spanish Springs Presbyterian Church, the Ash Wednesday service with Communion and Imposition of Ashes will begin at 7:00 p.m. Ash Wednesday is a Christian holy day of prayer and fasting. It is preceded by Shrove Tuesday and falls on the first day of Lent, the six weeks of penitence before Easter. Ash Wednesday is traditionally observed by Western Christians. It is observed by Catholics in the Roman Rite, Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists, Moravians, and Independent Catholics, as well as by many from the Reformed faith (inclusive of the Congregationalist, Continental Reformed, and Presbyterian traditions).
